I have been floating Indian Creek for a couple of years now and it seems to always be eventful. The ever changing rapids, unpredictable people, and enjoyable calm i feel while floating keeps me coming back all the time. On the water, work and worries seem to disappear, leaving me thinking of what is to unfold over the next couple of hours. With temperatures reaching almost 100, the sights and sounds of running water make the heat bearable. The first plunge into the cool water takes my breath away. Relaxed, i prepare for launch into the rushing water ahead. The first obstacle in the water ahead is a short set of rapids with a few turns making it a good thrill. Drifting downstream i prepare for more rapids to come. After an hour i make my first pit stop at a rope swing. Enjoying a cold beverage i watch as kids and adults fly threw the air performing aerial acrobats landing far out into the water. With the biggest rapids yet to come i secure my gear. After a short stop it is time to float on. Into the canyon water rushes and it starts getting exciting. Adrenaline rushing, i paddle threw rapids, cut around rocks and power my kayak into the big swells of water. Pushing my limits the whole way i finally make it to calm water. At the canyons end more people fly threw the air jumping from the 20' cliffs into the cool water. Stopping for a short time enjoying another cold beverage, i prepare for the final stretch of my water adventure. Calm and feeling good i float past a couple of waterfalls enjoying my surrounding. With my float at an end i paddle toward land satisfied. Another successful float.
